Guest: Professor Melveena McKendrick - Council has decided to issue a series of Green papers on key issues - Series of interim reports followed by a full Report to be published by end of year - Review of Tripos is taking place with responses by end of this term - Undergraduate Admissions Committee is reviewing recent drop in State school students admissions and applications - Working Party set up to review support and reward for teaching - Need to improve bursary support for graduate students in conjunction with 800th Campaign - Further ssues raised included BOGS, CARET, HEFCE, good practice database, CMI, Bologna process, fEC, and the interaction of PVCs with the Vice-Chancellor and Registrary

Meeting with Peter Deer and John Payne and Andy Cliff - Catherine Pitt, Margaret Glendenning, Nick Downer, and Nick Holmes attended - The Board particularly welcomed contact with John Payne and were impressed by his grasp of the process - Issues raised regarding clear communication with staff regarding red-circling and the missing of deadlines, and the moderation process - Nick Holmes to chase for further information

Green Paper - Nick Downer to send final draft comments to Board after suggested amendments by Michael Kuczynski had been circulated and agreed

Any Other Business CamSIS: - Concern raised regarding automatic re-allocation of female candidates from all female Colleges if their gender was not expressly stated on the application form

Environment: - Margaret Glendenning to speak to Environmental Officer and reply to Jonathan Shanklin of British Antarctic Survey
Governance: - Michael Kuczynski to investigate Judge Business School commercial offshoot
