2. | Guest: Professor Melveena McKendrick -Council has decided to issue a series of Green papers on key issues -Series of interim reports followed by a full Report to be published by end of year -Review of Tripos is taking place with responses by end of this term -Undergraduate Admissions Committee is reviewing recent drop in State school students admissions and applications -Working Party set up to review support and reward for teaching -Need to improve bursary support for graduate students in conjunction with 800th Campaign -Further ssues raised included BOGS, CARET, HEFCE,good practice database, CMI, |

5. | Meeting with Peter Deer and John Payne and Andy Cliff -Catherine Pitt, Margaret Glendenning, Nick Downer, and Nick Holmes attended -The Board particularly welcomed contact with John Payne and were impressed by his grasp of the process -Issues raised regarding clear communication with staff regarding red-circling and the missing of deadlines, and the moderation process -Nick Holmes to chase for further information |

7. | Board of Graduate Studies Review Continuing. |
8. | Green Paper -Nick Downer to send final draft comments to Board after suggested amendments by Michael Kuczynski had been circulated and agreed |
9. | Annual Report -Nick Downer to liaise with Nick Holmes regarding timetable and appointing section leaders |
